Vibe: The ultimate coastal escape but without being too far from the city. It blends beautiful shoreline with a tight-knit, creative community. You’ll find a mix of classic character homes, hidden architectural gems and properties with plenty of acreage. Nothing is far from the ocean.

Walkability: Low to Moderate. This is a sprawling coastal region where a vehicle is a necessity for the daily run. However, the community connectivity is exceptionally high on foot or two wheels once you hit the multi-use trail networks & local beaches.

• Grab a coffee or lunch at the Bike & Bean, a restored historic railway station right on the trail that serves as the community's morning social hub. You can also rent bikes here and they have a bike repair service. 

• Spend an afternoon at Queensland Beach or hunt for a quieter, local stretch of sand at Cleveland Beach.

• Hike or bike the St. Margarets Bay Trail, part of the Rum Runners Trail network, offering kilometres of crushed gravel pathways 

• locally baked goods at the White Sails Bakery & Deli

• do the hot & cold spa circuit at Oceanstone Resort & Spa

• you'll probably need to take up sailing at the St. Margaret's Bay Sailing Club

• Saturday morning at the Hubbards Barn Farmers' Market (running May through October) to stock up on local produce, sourdough &  handmade goods.

• Labour Day Picnic cafe for small batch treats, caramels and the coolest knick knacks

 

Schools of Note: The area is served by great community schools including Shatford Memorial Elementary (Hubbards), East St. Margaret's Elementary and Five Bridges Junior High. High school students typically head to Bay View High School (home of the Bay View Sharks) which has a solid regional reputation and offers a fantastic French Immersion program.

Price Point: A diverse market with options spanning multiple brackets and construction types. Entry-level land and inland split-entries or cottages typically start in the $450,000–$600,000 range. For established properties with deeded ocean access, elevated ocean views, or true deep-water frontage, prices comfortably crest $900,000 to over $2 million.
