Vibe: The ultimate family-friendly urban pocket. Tree-lined streets, quiet nights, and classic character home architecture. Westmount Subdivision, the Armcrescent Loop and anything in the Tupper School catchment are hot spots.

Walkability: High. Most streets have sidewalks and shops, restaurants and coffee shops are within a 10-15 minute walk as a general rule.

Jess' Picks:

  • Truly Tasty for the best ramen in Halifax

  • pizza & a pint at Yeah Yeahs, a great spot for families

  • catch a yoga class at On The Mat Yoga Halifax

  • East Peak climbing is located in an old movie theatre

  • The Northwest Arm is a stunning ocean inlet that attracts kayakers, yachts and sailboats

  • stroll the shops & restaurants of Quinpool

  • Osprey's Roost Butcher for humanely & locally grazed meat & poultry

  • affordable breakfast at The Ardmore, you'll be competing with university students for a spot on the weekends

  • The Armview has a classic diner vibe, with a new picnic table area in the summer time

Schools of note: High-ranking catchments like Sir Charles Tupper Elementary and Westmount Elementary. Citadel High has a good reputation.

Price Point: A high demand area. Expect to pay between $850,000-$1.3 million. Condos generally start around $600,000 and are rare in this area.
